Canopied headboards are attractive to the eyes and the richest silk fabrics can exude a very luscious and inviting atmosphere for the bedroom. To have an entire back wall as the headboard with customized shelves that tuck in the first parts of the head of the bed is a modern innovation. There are multifunctional headboards that are quite appropriate for condo living and other urban residential buildings that require more storage spaces and concentrated distribution of space. If possible at the other end of the shelves, a study table can be incorporated in the design so that the space is maximized. Headboards that are tiled from floor to ceiling are also a huge trend nowadays. Small glass mosaic tiles are just divine especially when they create colossal abstract images or realistic pictures of the scenes that the outside world is full of. Large slate, granite, marble and pebble stones are excellent choices for materials that will create a raw and organic look for a modern bedroom with an industrial look.
A light colored headboard will not enhance the features of your bedroom if your room has a lot of dark, dramatic colors. It will stand out, but it will stand out only as being a rather ill-fitting piece of furniture in an otherwise beautiful room.
