Hi, I’m Brit. I’m a copywriter and author, who also writes social media and ghostwrites. Making things is my thing.
I was born in Orange, California and grew up in the middle of central Oregon. It’s a very different upbringing switching from the rough outskirts of Los Angeles to the pristine forest. I attended the University of Oregon, starting my professional life in copywriting at Maxmedia, an agency based in Ireland. I also worked as a writer and editor for Ethos Magazine, starting the University of Oregon’s first student sex advice column, Ruffled Feathers.
My first novel, eventually published as Romancing Brimstone, was described as “unexpectedly deep” and “not a predictable tale by any means.” An article in XOJane made me Internet famous for a few minutes, and meanwhile opened up many other doors. I am now a regular columnist at The Billfold, and have written for other publications such as Paste and The Opera Snob. I am also the editor in chief of the book review blog Fangirls Read It First.
I bring my desire to convey the human voice in everything I create, whether it’s Facebook copy for a media agency focused on augmented reality or a fictional book about post-post-apocalyptic teenagers.
Contact me if you’re interested in working together. Don’t be afraid of all the spooky things on my Pinterest profile.
COMING SOON: I’m starting a copywriting firm! More details as things emerge.
